FIND YOUR FEARLESSNESS

FIND YOUR FEARLESSNESS

You Can Do This.

If you are like me, you possibly don’t like to share your experience with strangers or people that you do not know that well. My first experience in group therapy was after I lost a family member in a sudden and unexpected death. I was scared! I felt confused but, as the first group session progressed, I thought, “Wow, I am not alone. I have a voice! I feel understood, and these people validated my feelings. I must tell you I looked forward to the next session, mainly for the support and the sense of connection I had to the other members.

You are not alone.

Group therapy will remind you that you are not alone. Most times when we seek therapy, we feel alone and feel like no one really understands what we are going through. When you become part of a supportive group, you start to feel connected to the feelings of others who might have had a similar experience.

Group therapy helps you to get honest feedback from others but also helps you to overcome feelings of isolation. When I went to group counseling to get help with my grief, I did not realize just how much others can offer hope, inspiration, encouragement and suggestions.

Let yourself be seen.

You might benefit from group therapy if you are struggling with depression, grief, family issues or some type of addiction, including drugs and alcohol, gambling or sex addiction.
